The plans are only just being hatched now. This website will evolve as the event draws nearer.

On 23 July 2022 I came home after an evening out. Rayna explained to me that whilst surfing social media for healthy dietary plans that involve papaya that she's stumbled across real estate for sale in Nicaragua. She said to me 'I think we should look in Nicaragua'. I knew this was an inspired idea. She showed me some of the properties she'd been looking at. I booked our flights that evening. We had to investigate. We spent the rest of the night researching Nicaragua & the properties on offer there. We contacted agents and developers & made appointments to speak with them virtually.
We arrived in Managua on 28 August 2022. For two weeks we explored and viewed properties. Nicaragua is absolutely gorgeous! It has 19 volcanos - most are extinct, half a dozen are dormant & one active. One of the volcanoes has a lake in the crater. It has a Pacific Coast as well as a Caribbean Coast. The Pacific Coast offers world-class surf. It boasts the largest lake in Central America which has volcanoes in the middle of it as well as an archipelago of 365 islets. Some of these islets have hotels or restaurants on them. Some are owned privately & one is inhabited by monkeys.
Nicaragua also produces fantastic coffee, chocolate, rum & cigars. What's not to like?
So, back on 23 July 2022, Rayna showed me a website with photos of this stunning colonial-style Casa. I fell in love with it instantly. We will host my 50th Birthday Party here on Saturday 7 December 2024. We'll be making all kinds of arrangements for your pleasure & enjoyment. Please get in touch if you would like to play some choones.

Never felt safer. Honestly. The most dangerous thing (outside the capital city of Managua) is an open manhole which you definitely want to keep an eye out for when walking along the sidewalk or road. Managua, like any large city has trouble lurking in the shadows. If you're looking for it, you'll find it. My advise it to make a beeline out of Managua.
The local currency is the Cordoba. One Pound is equal to around 44 Cordoba. One Dollar equals around 35 Cordoba. Pretty much everywhere will accept US Dollars and debit or credit card.
We did! I found the roads to be, in general either pretty good or awful. The drivers were very careful and polite. Much better than LA drivers!
Managua. It's a pretty cute medium sized airport. You will need $10 cash for a Tourist Permit which you must buy at Immigrations or they will deny you entry. Once in a car it's a 50 minute drive to Granada.
You must purchase a Tourist Card for $10 USD at the airport (exact change recommended), valid for up to a total of 90 days in any of the member countries of the Central America-4 Border Control Agreement. Visitors remaining longer must obtain an extension from Nicaraguan Immigration or be subject to large fines.
I think the plan is that we'll arrange for drivers to collect you and drop you either in Granada or at a car rental agency of your choosing. Please get in contact to discuss nearer the time.
Do you have questions at all? Anything I can help with? Send me a message, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
